When it comes to Thai cuisine, I am very picky and only go to a few of the tried and tested Thai restaurants. Recently I had to catch up with a friend for lunch, we decided on this new place-Fuchsia, which I hadn’t heard of before. Well, I wasn’t even sure, what to expect, and imagine my delight, when I had one of the best Thai food offering in a long time. Fuchsia turned out to be a hidden gem and I pat myself, for finding it.
Located in the commercial hub of Bay Square, Fuchsia is a Thai restaurant offering fresh urban Thai food in a contemporary bistro kind of an atmosphere.
Fuchsia is a spacious venue, with indoor and outdoor dining area. The decor of the place is tastefully done and it has a cosy vibe. It’s a great place to catch up with a friend or dine with colleagues during lunch hour or for a meal with the family.
First time in Dubai, I’ve come across a restaurant offering complimentary Detox Water. How cool is that! There were 2 kinds of detox water and I helped myself to a glass of Lime ‘n’ Mint water.
We ordered a refreshing glass of Hibiscus Iced Tea, before our food could arrive. Their beverage menu offers some interesting drinks.
As I was nursing a cold, I was in a mood to have soup and I was recommended their Tom Yum Soup. The soup was packed with great flavor and taste. Though the vegetarian option was not there in the menu, they specially made it for us.
Being a vegetarian, we don’t get too many options while dining at an Asian restaurant. But we liked the fact that upon request, they could serve us some of the vegetarian dishes that were not there in the menu.
At Fuchsia, you can expect fresh food, made from scratch. They use natural, organic and sustainable produce wherever possible. They also offer healthy, vegan and vegetarian options.
Starters
A visit to a Thai restaurant is incomplete without ordering my favorite Papaya Salad, so we had to order it in Fuchsia. The salad was freshly made, spicy and oh-so-delicious.
Next we ordered the Golden Fried Tofu that was served with spicy peanut sauce. The tofu was a bit bland ,could have been better.
Mains
Green Curry with veggies, this popular Thai curry was fragrant,creamy, spicy and extremely delicious at Fuchsia. It’s authentic taste reminded me of the amazing green curry I had during my Thai holiday, not so long ago.
Thai street food staple Pad Thai was the next dish that we ordered. It had a perfect blend of savory and sweet flavor. The ground peanuts added a crunchy factor to it. My kind of comfort food.
Instead of having the regular fried rice, we opted for the healthy Fried Brown Rice. It went very well with the green curry.
Desserts
We sampled 2 different desserts-Sticky Rice with Mango and Banana Sushi Rolls. Both of them were deliciously different and had us asking for more.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The food, the service and the ambience is really good. Glad that I came across such a wonderful Thai eatery. Planning to take my family to Fuchsia soon.
