Pyramids at Wafi is home to some of the best restaurants in Dubai. It is one of my favorite dining spot for a family lunch or dinner. In January this year, they opened a new Italian restaurant-Marco’s Authentic Italian Kitchen, and I visited this new offering from Pyramids for dinner with my family.
From the moment you enter the restaurant, you will feel as though you are transported to a town in Italy. It has classic Italian setting. Marco’s is a family friendly restaurant, it’s a perfect venue to dine with family and friends. The spacious restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining area.
The outdoor area is beautiful. It surrounded by plants and shrubs. The water fountain in the center gives it a ethereal look.
The indoor dining space has Italian inspired decor that is elegant and rustic. It also has a separate bar area and an open kitchen. The Italian music in the background enhanced our dining experience.
Marco’s is fronted by Italian chef Marco Ghezzi and his team. You can expect simple, good food that is fresh and has authentic flavors. All their dishes are made using premium and artisan products.
Chef Marco has curated a wonderful menu with some of his signature dishes. The menu includes some of the good wines from Italy. While the kids sipped on fresh juice, I ordered a glass of my favorite Chianti Red Wine.
We were offered a complimentary Basket of Bread. The bread was freshly baked in their kitchen and had a melt-in-your mouth quality to it.
Appetizers
We started off with the light, crispy and tasty Marco Zucchini. It had thinly sliced zucchini that was deep fried.
Pappa Al Pomodoro is a Tuscan tomato and bread soup. It tasted absolutely delicious.
Mains
Napoli Pizza that was made in their wood-fired oven tasted incredibly good. The kids enjoyed watching their pizza being made.
Calling out to all Gnocchi lovers in Dubai, Marco’s serves one of the best Gnocchi in town. This Italian dumplings made with Gorgonzola cheese and chopped walnuts will make you ask for more.
Cannelloni was handmade with fresh pasta that was filled with ricotta cheese and spinach. It had a rich, creamy and savory taste. We relished it.
Desserts
Torta Di Mele is a traditional Italian apple cake that is served with vanilla sauce. At Marco’s it came along with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fresh berries too. This dessert was highly recommended by the staff. And I am glad that we ordered it, as it tasted lip smackingly delicious.
Tiramisu at Marco’s was a dream of a dessert. It had exquisite taste and flavor. We ended our dinner with this classic Italian dessert.
Overall, we had a great dining experience. The food, the service and the ambience was fantastic. Marco’s is certainly, one of the best and authentic Italian restaurants in town.
