Dubai is home to a great number of Italian restaurants, but there are very few restaurants that really stand out. I recently came across an Italian restaurant which stands out for it’s authentic and fine food and refined dining experience-The Artisan By Enoteca Pinchiorri.
The Artisan is tucked away in the quiet corner of Burj Daman building in DIFC. The Artisan By Enoteca Pinchiorri is the Dubai based outlet of Florence’s three Michelin-starred Enoteca Pinchiorri.
Enoteca Pinchiorri boasts of one of the best chefs in the world, chef Annie Féolde, and it has been critically acclaimed since the 1970’s.
The Artisan’s philosophy is simple: to utilize the quality craftsmanship and use only the freshest and finest ingredients and provide the diners the very best Florentine cuisine.
The elegant yet relaxed decor of The Artisan is Florence inspired. Tastefully done up in light hues, it has an inviting atmosphere. The restaurant has a contemporary and chic decor with vibrant paintings adorning it’s walls.
Their menu is vast with a good selection of dishes for both non vegetarians and vegetarians. As a vegetarian, I was happy with their veg options. The drinks menu was impressive, apart from wines and other spirits, they serve a wide range of creative and innovative cocktails and mocktails.
Some of the cocktails we tried:
- Ionicis– It was a Chardonnay and Sherry based cocktail that was served in a Chinese takeaway box.
- Japanito– Sake based drink with green tea liqueur
- Gu Gu Basusu– Made with red wine, cranberry juice, black raspberry liqueur and rum foam.
- French Mule– A mild cocktail made with elderflower liqueur, lime, ginger beer and elderflower syrup.
The cocktails added sparkle to our dinner. Each and every cocktail was deliciously different and presented in a unique way.
Food
We were served complimentary bread that was freshly baked in their kitchen.
Appetizers
From their assortment of homemade Mini Gourmet Pizzas we were offered 2 of their vegetarian pizzas- cheese & sun dried tomato mini pizza and pesto & pine seeds mini pizza. They were perfect bite sized pizza that just melted in our mouth.
Fiori di Zucchina Fritti, Farciti di Mozzarella di Bufala e Pesto Toscano or in simple English , fried zucchini flowers stuffed with Buffalo Mozzarella and Tuscan pesto. This is one of their signature appetizers, and a definite must-try.
Insalata di Carciofi, Asparagi Verdi, Parmigiano e Limone or the Artichoke and green asparagus salad with Parmesan slices and lemon. This was one amazing salad with a sliced artichoke that was topped with asparagus, Parmesan cheese and lemon.
Burrata di Andria e Pomodori arrosti or the fresh Burrata with roasted tomatoes. Soft, fresh and creamy Burrata with delicious tomatoes was an absolute treat.
Main Course
Pumpkin Ravioli that is the pumpkin stuffed Ravioli garnished with nuts was our first main course dish. It was a simple, light and delicious dish.
Pasta with truffle which is new in their menu was served next. As a truffle lover, I devoured this luxurious and delicious dish.
Porcini Mushroom Risotto with aromatic herbs was excellent. This Italian classic dish made with intense porcini mushrooms with arborio rice was full of flavor and great taste.
Desserts
We tried 3 of their desserts.
Panettone with Mascarpone Cheese was a simple yet delicious dessert. It was such a joy to dunk slices of Panettone with Mascarpone cheese and wolf it down.
Assorted platter of Sorbet was our next dessert. We were served 4 flavors of homemade sorbet like mango, mandarin, lemon and coconut.
An Italian meal is incomplete without having the coffee flavored Tiramisu and we had to order it. The Tiramisu was perfectly made with well balanced flavors.
The Artisan By Enoteca Pinchiorri is a great culinary destination for all Italian cuisine lovers. The food, the drinks, the service and the ambience are fabulous.
