Just when I thought that I’ve been to all the pizza outlets in Dubai, then I see a new pizza outlet while passing by Barsha. I immediately made a plan to visit it. And that’s how I landed there on a Thursday afternoon for lunch.
Zpizza was founded in the art colony of Laguna Beach, California in 1986 by Sid Fanarof. His passion for good food and high quality ingredients inspired him to start Zpizza .
According to Sid Fanarof: “The best tasting food starts with ingredients that are naturally better for you.”
- Their dough is made from 100% organic wheat flour prepared fresh every day and it is hand-thrown and fire baked until uniquely crisp.
- They use award winning skim mozzarella from Wisconsin in their food products.
- Zpizza only uses certified organic tomato sauce.
- They use MSG free pepperoni, additive free sausage and fresh produce.
- They also offer gluten free and vegan options.
Zpizza is located at Barsha, opposite Jashanmal and it is close to Mall of the Emirates. They are opening a second outlet in Business Bay, very soon.
It is a small eatery with cosy atmosphere. Zpizza has bright red walls with picture frames adorning it’s walls.
Zpizza’s menu offers salads, starters, flatbreads, sandwiches, pizzas and desserts.
I started off with the Parmesan Bread Sticks, it was made with baked pizza dough and topped with garlic butter and Parmesan. It was served with homemade marinara sauce. A perfect starter to share with 2-3 people.
Being a huge lover of Gorgonzola cheese, I had to order their Pear & Gorgonzola Salad. Made with mixed greens, fresh pear, Gorgonzola cheese, roasted candied walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette, it was delicious.
I liked the fact that they offer good selection of pizza for vegetarians like me. They are also vegan friendly. I sampled 4 of their pizzas-Margherita, California Veggie, Tuscan Mushroom and Napoli. Apart from Tuscan Mushroom, I liked all the other 3 pizzas. My favorite was the California Veggie as it was handmade and fire baked to perfection with fresh veggie toppings. The Tuscan Mushroom pizza was bland and flavorless.
I ended my meal with the sinful Double Chocolate Fudge Cake. It was super moist and tasted oh-so-delicious.
