Nando’s the well known casual dining restaurant chain offering Afro-Portuguese flavors opened their latest outlet in Dubai Festival City. Last week I was invited for the opening of their newest outlet in the city. It was an evening of fun, food, music and artwork.
The main highlight of the evening was the art installation created especially for Nando’s, Dubai Festival City by international artist Kilmany-Jo. Created in South Africa, the incredible piece was shipped straight to Dubai and installed to mark the launch of this exciting new venue.
The restaurant offers stunning waterfront views and a bright and beautiful ambience. The South African inspired decor looks amazing. Many of the furniture pieces and light fittings are sourced from designers in South Africa.
The colorful art and light installations, the reclaimed wood interiors look impressive and inviting.
As with most of the launch events, the restaurant was too crowded and we had difficulty finding a table. Once seated, we were offered their designer drink-Madeira Red, a sweet, fizzy, Pomegranate lemonade made with sprite and finished with a sugary rim.
I enjoyed the Chargrilled Veg skewers with Chips that was served as an appetizer.
I’ve been using their famous Peri Peri Sauce at home for years, it was a delight to try different flavors of the sauce at Nando’s, DFC.
While my friends devoured the Nando’s Chicken that is marinated for over 24 hours in their tasty secret recipe and then grilled to perfection, I had their delicious Veggie Burger.
Whether it is their legendary chicken or sides, salads, appetizers and mains, Nando’s offers great flavors and variety. They do serve a limited selection of desserts. Maybe, I’ll try the desserts next time.
Good food, warm hospitality, beautiful ambience and waterfront promenade makes it an ideal venue to enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends.
