AB’s Absolute Barbecues-Deira

AB’s Absolute Barbecues, India’s popular grill restaurant recently opened a second branch in Dubai. They are known for their delicious food and flawless service.I was invited to dine there and give my feedback regarding the food.

The new branch of AB’s is easy to locate as they are located in the Centurion Star Tower, just across Deira City Centre.

The restaurant is very spacious with a huge seating capacity. The decor of the place is simple, bright and modern. The seating is comfortable.

AB’s is a casual dining restaurant and they are known for their Do-it-yourself indoor grilling experience. Every table at AB’s features a built in grill. The grill at the table offers 6-8 varieties of grills and apart from that, they also serve starters at the table. AB’s also features a Mongolian grill where you can choose your own veggies, meat and sauces. They have a buffet section for salads, main course and desserts. Both the vegetarians and non vegetarians have plenty of choice.

I started off with the sweet and tangy Strawberry lemonade.

As I am a vegetarian, you will get a vegetarian perspective of the food in AB’s.

While I was sipping my lemonade our table grill was ready with freshly grilled veggies like mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes, corn, broccoli, soya and paneer. Everything was tasty and grilled to perfection.

Next came a variety of starters like crispy corn, hara bhara kebab, American cheesy potatoes, churrasco pineapple falafel with hummus and paneer tikka. I loved each and every starter.

Loved the exotic veggies in spicy sauce that I had at the live Mongolian grill.

I skipped the soup and went straight to the salad counter. They had a limited varieties of salad. I tried most of them. They were fresh and crisp.

The main course was excellent. I especially loved the vegetable Biryani, paneer hazrat mahal, dhingri kofta, tangy cinnamon potato and methi palak corn.

There was a separate counter for condiments like pickles, raita, papad and chutneys. Freshly made Indian bread was served to our table.

The dessert counter had a mix of Indian and international selection. I liked Gulab jamun the best. I didn’t like any of the other desserts. Compared to all the other dishes that I tried in AB’s, only the desserts were disappointing.

Overall, I had a great experience. The food is good, the service is outstanding and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The pricing is very reasonable and affordable. No wonder, AB’s is everyone’s favorite.

Warning- it is a good idea to skip a meal before you dine at AB’s. As you will be gorging on too much food.
