I have always passed by Grand Barbeque while going to Jumeirah beach road, and I used to wonder what kind of place it was. Then last week I got an email invite from the owner, and that’s how I ended up going to Grand Barbeque.
From outside the restaurant looks like any regular place. Once I entered inside I realized it had a grand and luxurious ambience. The restaurant is massive. Grand Barbeque is an all you can eat buffet.
Located at Al Mina road next to Ibis Styles Jumeirah Hotel, Grand Barbeque is easily accessible. They also offer free Valvet service.
Grand Barbeque is aptly named, as the decor is really grand. The restaurant is very spacious, with private dining rooms as well. The restaurant is well lit with bright lighting. The seating is comfortable. Well set tables and elegant interiors enhances the dining experience at Grand Barbeque.
Grand Barbeque offers buffet for lunch and dinner. They mainly offer Indian cuisine. But they also offer some dishes from Chinese, Thai, Arabic and Italian cuisine. The buffet offers soups, salads, appetizers, mains and desserts. There are live cooking stations too. They have great options for vegetarians and non vegetarians.
We started off with soup- there was 2 options for soup. We opted for the vegetarian Sweet corn soup. It was good.
Next, we went for the Chaat counter. We tried the Pani Puri and Dahi Puri. It was delicious.
The salads were the usual kind that you find everywhere. The salad counter also had Arabic cold mezze like hummus, moutabel, fattoush and tabbouleh.
Both the vegetarians and non vegetarians have great options for starters. I liked the Corn papad cutlet and Crispy corn.
I liked the main course selection the best. The Dal Makhani, Palak paneer and Dal Palak Qorma were amazing. The Dum Vegetarian Biryani was also good. They were offering many Chinese dishes too.
The chef at the Fresh Pasta Counter was whipping up fresh pasta and spaghetti.
Freshly made Indian bread was served hot to our table.
The Dessert counter had a selection of Indian and international desserts. Doodhi ka Halwa was outstanding. It was rich in taste and flavor. I didn’t like the other dessert offerings.
The Chocolate Fountain was a big hit with the kids. There was Ice cream too.
Overall, we had a good dining experience. Some of the dishes needs to be improved. The service was good. Priced just AED 55 for lunch and AED 75 for dinner, Grand Barbeque offers value for money buffet in a nice surrounding.
