Toshi is a Pan-Asian restaurant offering authentic culinary fare from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and China. Along with a la carte menu, they have buffet theme nights. Thursday is the Thai night. I visited them last Thursday and here’s my account of my Thai themed night experience at Toshi.
Located on the 18th floor of Grand Millennium Dubai in Tecom, Toshi boasts of a great view of Sheikh Zayed road.
The restaurant is spacious with a huge dining area as well as a separate bar area. The well stocked bar is at the entrance of Toshi.
The interiors of the restaurant is modern, classy and chic. The setting is gorgeous- from the elegant furniture, tableware to beautiful paintings and statues of Buddha all across the restaurant. The dim lightings adds a romantic feel to the restaurant.
After being seated at a cosy corner table by the window, my partner and I ordered drinks. We decided to have cocktails. My partner had a Litchi Martini and I had a Pink Panther.
The Litchi Martini was delicious and fragrant. Pink Panther was deliciously smooth and refreshing.
The buffet stations were laid out beautifully with great many options for soups, salads, starters, mains and desserts. As it was a tasting session, we were also offered few dishes from their a la carte menu.
We ditched the soup counter and went straightaway to the salad bar. We tried a little bit of everything, but our favorites were Som Tam Salad, Mango Salad, Green Salad and the Mushroom Salad.
They had a huge variety of starters like chicken satay, Thai fish cakes, shrimp cakes, grilled baby squid, BBQ Thai style chicken and much more. Some of the starters we liked were the Chilly Pepper Tofu, Springrolls and Dimsum.
Apart from having a buffet counter for main course, they also had a live cooking station. It was fun to watch our food being cooked.
The Thai chef made us Noodles according to our specifications. We also liked the perfectly cooked Green Curry that was served along with Jasmine rice.
The dessert counter had authentic Thai desserts as well as international dessert selection. We enjoyed the fresh and tasty Thai fruits. A must-try dessert at Toshi is the Litchi tart with Coconut Ice Cream. It was utterly amazing. There were other Thai favorites like Sticky rice with mango, Egg custard, Thai fried bananas and Water chestnuts with coconut milk. Among the international desserts we liked the Mango mousse, Kiwi mousse Chocolate Brownie, Creme caramel and Rice pudding.
Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience. Good food, top notch service and beautiful atmosphere. I would definitely want to come back and try their other theme nights.
