Grand Cafe Boulevard At Downtown Dubai

Located at the heart of Downtown Dubai, Grand Cafe Boulevard offers Lebanese Cuisine in a lavish and grand setting. Grand Cafe is a well known brand in the Middle East, it was first opened in the early 1990’s in Beirut, Lebanon. The Dubai branch opened in 2015.

Grand Cafe Boulevard is a very spacious restaurant/cafe. It is sprawled across 2 floors and both the floors have a terrace. The top floor has a spectacular view of the Burj Khalifa. Apart from food, Grand Cafe Boulevard also offers Shisha and live music.

What really caught my attention as soon as I entered the place was the red carpet setting that led to the cafe. For a minute I thought I came for a movie premiere in an ultra posh theatre.

The decor is grand just like it’s name. The setting is regal-from the furniture, upholstery to tableware and chandeliers. The setting is gorgeous. Grand Cafe Boulevard oozes luxury. It was such a delight to dine at this palatial place. They also have a private dining area.

Grand Cafe offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have an elaborate menu consisting of great variety of  salads, soups, side dishes, mains and desserts. You will be spoilt for choice.

Their beverage menu offers fresh juices, soft drinks, mocktails, milkshakes, iced drinks and hot beverages.  We had the mocktails-My hubby had the Mint Cooler and I had the Red Roses.

Both the drinks were delicious and refreshing. The drink Red Roses comes highly recommended.

As it was a tasting session, we got to sample most of their signature dishes. We tried almost all their vegetarian dishes. They offer a good variety for non vegetarians, for the vegetarians the menu is limited.

Here’s a list of what we sampled:

Fattoush was made fresh with seasonal veggies and mixed with watercress, baby lettuce, sumac and lemon dressing with crispy saj bread rolls.

Mousaka Roll was made with baked eggplant and chickpeas. It was served with creamy tomato sauce.

Stuffed Grape Leaves was done perfectly. It had grape leaves stuffed with rice, tomatoes, parsley and cooked in a tangy citrus broth.

Grilled Halloumi Cheese had a robust texture and savory flavor.

Hummus was gorgeously presented with tiny toasted saj rolls. We enjoyed it with warm pita bread.

Batata Harra is the Lebanese style spicy potatoes. It was well spiced, crispy and tasty.

Cheese Spring Roll was delicious with crunchy shell filled with soft cheese inside. The herbs inside the cheese filling enhanced the taste and flavor of the cheese spring roll. It was served with tomato and parsley dip.

Beans in Tomato Gravy was fantastic.  It had cooked beans in tomato gravy and topped with fried crispy onions, garlic, parsley and lemon. It is a great dish to have with Arabic bread or rice.

Mujadara was a simple combination of rice and lentils. We loved it.

We were offered freshly baked Arabic bread that was soft and fluffy. It went well with all the dishes that we had.

After this we were stuffed and didn’t have any space in our tummies for dessert. But our server insisted that we try their desserts and I am glad that we went by his advice, they have a terrific choice when it comes to desserts.

My hubby and I decided to share a Cinnamon and Hazelnut Tiramisu. The tiramisu came in a cute jar. Cinnamon and hazelnut tiramisu was light, creamy and not too sweet. It was utterly delicious.

The service was quick and efficient. The food and the presentation was outstanding. The atmosphere is beautiful. Overall, we had an amazing dining experience. Our Saturday afternoon couldn’t have been better.
