Staycation At Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort-Fujairah

Traveling around the world and exploring new places is the best possible thing that you can do for yourself. My love for traveling takes me to different countries and continents. But there are times when I can’t go on a long vacation, that’s when I go for a short staycation or a weekend getaway.

Recently, my family and I went on a weekend staycation to Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort, Fujairah. Driving across the scenic Hajar mountains, it took us just 90 minutes from Dubai to reach the resort.

With the stunning Hajar mountains as the backdrop, the resort is located on a 230 meter stretch of pristine beach. Infact, it has the longest strip of beach in the east coast of UAE. It is fronted by the Indian Ocean.

Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort is a luxury resort. It offers 218 spacious rooms with floor to ceiling windows and with spectacular views of the sea, pool area and the gardens. This family friendly resort also offers 42 family rooms.

The resort offers 24 hours concierge service, Business Centre, Spa, beauty salon, health club, gym, tennis & squash courts, swimming pools, diving center, penguin club for children,Teen Club, a small library, childcare services,  banquet & conference rooms, ATM, restaurants, bars and much more.

Our check-in took a long time as there was a huge Easter holiday rush. We were escorted to the Coffee Lounge for some refreshments. The Coffee Lounge is in the same floor as the lobby.

The lobby area has a contemporary look with modern classy furniture.

We were given the Royal Club Room that is located on the high floors-15th floor and above. The Royal club room came with free wifi. Our welcome platter was filled with sweet goodies and fruits. The orchid flowers added a personal touch.

Our room looked very inviting. The view from the room was fantabulous-we got the view of the gorgeous sea, giant swimming pool and the neatly manicured gardens.

The Royal Club Room not only has a fabulous sea view, it also has a balcony with wicker chairs and table. We had a pleasant time sitting in the balcony and soaking in the view.

The Royal Club Room is very spacious and it can house 4 people easily. It was perfect for my family of 4. The room had a spacious sitting room, dressing area, desk with chair, huge cupboards, plasma television, mini refrigerator, kettle to make coffee/tea and refreshments.

Our luxurious and comfy room had a huge bathroom. The sparkling clean and neat bathroom had a bath tub as well as a shower room. The bathroom had all the required toiletries like shampoo, shower gel, moisturizer and soap. I had forgotten to get my hair dryer, so I was happy to see the hair dryer in the bathroom.

Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort has a total of  9 restaurants and bars. It was difficult to choose the restaurant as each one of them was good.

Gonu Bar & Grill is located on the shores of the resort’s private beach. It has a stunning view. It offers seafood, light meals and drinks.

Baywatch Beach & Pool Bar is located by the pool and offers beverages.

Astros Bar is located on the 20th floor. It has a chilled out vibe and offers a panoramic view of the resort and it’s surroundings. Astros Bar offers bar food and drinks.

Tea & Dates Lobby Lounge  is located at the lobby and it offers hot and cold beverages.

Swaad Indian Restaurant offers authentic Indian food in a traditional setting.

Taste Thai Restaurant is one of their signature restaurants. It offers authentic and delicious Thai food. We enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. For detailed review, read my blogpost. Search for Taste Thai Restaurant in my website.

Apart from the above restaurants and bars. There is another bar with live music and beach shack vibe. We really liked the way their menu was designed.

Whilst hubby was working out in the gym I took the kids out to play. Our first stop was at the Penguin Club and my daughter enjoyed all the activities there-both indoors and outdoors. She also had a great time in the kids pool.

Next it was my son’s turn. He had a fun time at Teens Club and Mini Golf Area.

Another fun activity enjoyed by our entire family was the Beach Time. Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort has it’s own private beach and we had a relaxed time by the beach- swimming and building sandcastles.

The Pool Area was also amazing. They have one of the biggest pools and also a separate kids swimming pool.

I wish had more time  to explore all the other luxurious facilities like spa and beauty salon.

We had a wonderful staycation at Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort, Fujairah. The facilities are top notch. The service was outstanding. The ever smiling and helpful staff were always around to take care of us personally. We had such a relaxing time, away from the hustle bustle of busy city life.

Whether you want to holiday with your family or friends or with that special someone-Le Meridien Al Beach Resort is the perfect destination for you. A must-visit resort for both tourists and residents of UAE.
