One0One Restaurant and Cafe is a home grown concept and casual dining spot that is open 24 hours. It offers multi cuisine-from Arabic cuisine to Italian cuisine. They offer a good variety of Shisha. It is basically a cool place to hang out with friends over a board game or video game. Infact they have a small private area for a party of 8-10.
One0One is located at Millenium Tower, Business Bay. It is a great location, easily accessible. We had no trouble getting there.
One0One is a spacious place sprawled across two floors-ground floor is the cafe area and the top floor or the first floor is the lounge and restaurant area.
I visited One0One on a Wednesday night along with a friend. Every Wednesday they have Latino Night wherein they have live Latin music. On that particular night we enjoyed the energetic performance of a talented Columbian singer. On couple of other days of the week they have live Arabic music and karaoke.
Cafe downstairs is more of a grab ‘n’ go kind of a place for quick eats and coffee. The restaurant and lounge upstairs is a relaxed place where you can spend your time watching a game of football on the Telly or do Shisha and dine at your own leisurely pace.
The whole setup is wonderful- from quirky paintings, chandeliers to comfortable seating. The colorful cushions and tableware adds vibrancy to the place. They also have a small stage for live performance.
After being seated in a cosy corner, we ordered a round of drinks. My friend had the Virgin Mojito and I had a Layered Cocktail( made with 3 kinds of juice). Both our drinks were tasty and refreshing.
Their beverage menu consists of fresh juices, soft drinks, mocktails, frappuccino, tea and coffee.
As for the food we ordered a mix of different kinds of cuisine. We started off with Vegetable Roll (sushi) honestly speaking, I never thought it will be good. But it was outstanding. It had a filling of avocado, cucumber and mango.
Next we tried Arabic cuisine and this was our favorite. We ordered Tabbouleh, Hummus and Hummus B’Lahme. We were also served complimentary Arabic bread.
Tabbouleh was crisp and fresh.
Hummus was a perfect blend of mashed chickpeas with garlic, tahini and olive oil. It was creamy and utterly delicious.
My friend tried the Hummus B’Lahme and she loved it. She said the Hummus B’Lahme was succulent and luscious.
From their Italian section we tried the Vegetable Lasagna. The lasagna was a bit of a disappointment. It was too dry and lacked flavor and taste.
Next we tried the Thai Curry with Jasmine Rice. The Thai curry was aromatic, creamy and extremely tasty. It made a great combo with the Jasmine rice. More gravy and less veggies would have been perfect.
Another winner was the Chicken Boneless Tikka that my friend tried. It came with a particularly delicious and totally recommended pita bread with a spicy topping of onions, parsley and paprika along with perfectly done fries and heritage creamy garlic dip. She loved the perfectly charcoal grilled, tender, juicy and mildly spiced Chicken Tikka.
We had the homemade Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert. This cheesecake had the tangy flavor of a New York style cake. It was topped with strawberries and came with a strawberry sauce in the side. It was rich, moist and smooth. We relished it. I liked the fact that most of their desserts are homemade. The other desserts on the menu looked good too, maybe next time I will give it a try.
We ended our meal with a pot of freshly brewed Arabic Tea. Great way to end our meal with a perfect cup of tea.
Overall, we had an amazing experience. The best part was that we could choose dishes that were not in the menu and they customized it according to our specification. They offer a wide range of options, there is something for everyone. A must-visit place for all shisha enthusiasts. The service was good and we liked the relaxed and chilled out vibe.
