At our recent Staycation at Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort-Fujairah, we wanted to have lunch in one of the many restaurants in the resort. The kids insisted on Italian food and that’s when we decided to give Sapore a try.
Sapore is the Italian fine dining restaurant in the resort. Sapore offers indoor and outdoor dining area. The outdoor seating area has the beautiful view of the garden and swimming pool. Al fresco dining is a wonderful option in winter.
The restaurant is bright and well lit with sunlight seeping inside the huge glass windows. The white walls of the restaurant is decked up with Italian art pieces. The ambience of the restaurant is sophisticated and classy. Sapore has a gorgeous setting and it gives out a serene vibe. I instantly feel in love with it.
The menu of Sapore is simple and straight to the point. It does not offer too many variety, so it is easy to order.
We started off with a round of drinks. Their beverage list consists of soft drinks,fresh juices, mocktails, cocktails and alcoholic beverages. They have an impressive wine list. We ordered a Strawberry based Mocktail-it was tasty and refreshing. Just the right kind of drink to quench our thirst on a sunny afternoon.
We ordered Trio di Bruschetta as our appetizer. There were three varieties of Bruschetta- Bell Pepper with Ricotta cheese, Mushrooms and smoked eggplants with Percorino and the classic Tomato Bruschetta. All the three varieties of bruschetta were flavourful, fresh and delicious.
As for our mains we ordered a pizza and a pasta.
All their gourmet pizza are thin crust pizza that is freshly baked in-store. We had the Vegetarian Pizza that was topped with cherry tomatoes, tomatoes and basil. It was drizzled with fresh pesto sauce. The pizza was fantastic.
Crespelle alla Fiorentina was the pasta that we ordered. Home made crepes were filled with ricotta cheese and served with creamy bechamel sauce and drizzled with fresh tomato purée. This pasta was rich and heavy. Two people can easily share it.
We had a scoop of Strawberry Gelato for our dessert. They have a selection of ice creams and sorbet. They also have classic Italian desserts like Tiramisu, Panna Cotta and Tartufo Affogato.
The service was quick and efficient. Good food, but limited options. The great thing is that they attend to any special requests, infact they customized our pizza according to our choice. The atmosphere is amazing. We had a wonderful afternoon, certainly a place we want to come back again.
