Casa Mia-A Place For Excellent Italian Food In Dubai

Casa Mia is one of the oldest and finest Italian restaurant in Dubai. This Italian gem has been around for more than twenty years. Over the years it has consistently been offering excellent food  and great service. It is like fine wine that has grown better with age.

Casa Mia is located  at the Meridien Village Terrace, Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre in Airport Road, Garhoud. Casa Mia is surrounded by many good restaurants around it.

I have visited Casa Mia many times over a period of thirteen years and till date it has been my favorite Italian restaurant in town. This time I was invited to experience the live pasta cooking demonstration by Chef Mrs. Paola Bozzini. But before I explain about my food experience, let me tell you about the amazing ambience of Casa Mia.

Casa Mia has indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor restaurant is modeled on an authentic rustic Italian trattoria-dark wood furnishings, wooden flooring  and stone walls decked with Italian paintings. It has an old world charm. The atmosphere is cosy, intimate, romantic and rustic. Casa Mia transports you to a quaint little town in Italy. The vibe at the outdoor seating area is lively and energetic.

As we wanted to enjoy the last few days of good weather in Dubai,  we decided to have our dinner outdoors.

After being seated in a cosy corner, we were offered complimentary Bread Basket. There was a variety of freshly baked bread-from bread sticks to Focaccia bread. Great way to start a meal.

The drinks menu at Casa Mia offers fresh juices, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. They have an extensive wine list. Quite impressive I must say. I liked the fact that the servers had a good knowledge about the wine.

After having a round of drinks. We were served Tomato Bruschetta. The Bruschetta was made with fresh and juicy tomatoes and basil. We loved the simple but tasty and fragrant bruschetta.

It was a pleasure interacting with Italian chef Mrs Paola Bozzini. Casa Mia had invited her especially for the pasta making session. It was a delight watching her make fresh pasta right in front of us.  Not only did I enjoy the pasta I also learnt few things about the art of pasta making.

I have always loved Casa Mia’s traditional wood-fired pizza. We ordered Alla Diavola– it had tomato, mozzarella, basil, marinated onions, marinated peppers and chilli. The pizza was outstanding-puffed up, crispy and delicious.

Next we tried one of the specialty made by Chef Paola Bozzini. The pasta had a ricotta cheese filling inside and we were given a mushroom sauce in the side to pour over this pasta. It tasted unique and exquisite.

Next to arrive on our table was the Penne Pasta with white sauce- it was fantastic and just the way we wanted it. The sauce was light and creamy, the mushrooms were well cooked and crunchy.

The food menu at Casa Mia is elaborate. When it comes to variety, you are spoilt for choice.

No matter how full I am, there is always room for dessert. We had Dark Chocolate Fondant with Amaretto ice cream for dessert. You need to taste  it to know how delicious it is. This utterly delicious dessert is a must-try.

Casa Mia offers a classic Italian experience. The food, the ambience and the service is top notch. Casa Mia is one place which is worth visiting again and again. No wonder, I keep going back.

Reservations are recommended.
