New York’s iconic eatery Serendipity 3 that was established in 1954 made it’s international debut here in Dubai recently. Infact, it is the first outlet to be opened, outside of USA. Dubai based Al Tayer Group has brought the Serendipity 3 brand to UAE.
They call this famous place Serendipity 3 because of the 3 founders who started it all.
Serendipity 3 in New York is frequented by celebrities and it is famous for it’s desserts such as Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, Sundaes and Cakes.
Recently a few other bloggers and I were invited to a Zomato Meet Up for the exclusive preview of Serendipity 3.
Serendipity 3 is one of the most gorgeous eatery that I have ever been to. I felt like I walked into a beautiful dream. The interiors of the place are stunning, colorful and classy. It resembles a theatrical stage set: with iron open cages for seating, Tiffany lamp shades falling from the ceilings, multi colored umbrellas and birds hanging from the top. Amazing art pieces adorn the walls of Serendipity 3.
Serendipity 3 also has a retail area, ice cream parlor and a confectionery area. The cotton candy section was a big hit with us, and we also learnt to make cotton candy.
Serendipity 3 offers almost the same menu as in New York. You can expect all the classic American fare like Nachos, Onion rings, burgers, hot dogs, ice cream sundaes, milkshakes and banana splits.
The menu is elaborate, with a wide variety of drinks, appetizers,soups,salads, sandwiches,burgers,pizzas,pastas, sides entrées and desserts.
We started off our meet up with their famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate. They come in many flavors and two sizes(regular and sharing for 2) I had the Peanut Butter Frrrozen Hot Chocolate. It was filled with cocoa, whole milk,whipped cream, chocolate syrup and topped with chunks of peanut butter cups chocolate. Though I took the regular size, I couldn’t finish it, as the portion size was big. Nevertheless, it tasted fantastic.
I also had Empire State Onion Rings, Sweet Potato Fries, All Hail Caesar,Loaded Potato Skins, All in Nachos and Mac & Cheese.
Empire State Onion Rings was served with ranch dressing and BBQ dip. It was crispy and tasty. The Romano cheese that was sprinkled on the onion rings enhanced the flavor.
Sweet Potato Fries was delicious. At Serendipity 3 they have perfected the art of making this classic side dish. It was packed with savory-sweet flavor.
All Hail Caesar is Serendipity 3’s take on the classic Caesar salad. It was made with giant Romano Croutons , the croutons were the largest that I’ve ever seen. It had a wonderful rich dressing and totally a meal in itself. One of the best Caesar salad that I had in Dubai.
Loaded Potato Skins came in three varieties and one of it was vegetarian. Being a vegetarian I could only try that. It had loaded potato skin with Chilli cheese and guacamole.
All in Nachos Tortilla chips was dusted with ancho chili. Half covered with chicken and white cheddar, the other half with beef and sharp cheddar. I had a vegetarian version of it. It was served with guacamole,sour cream, pico de gallo and black beans.
Mac & Cheese was terrific. It is my all time favorite comfort food. This deliciously cheesy goodness was drizzled with truffle oil and topped with Panko crust.
As for desserts we had the Outrageous Banana Split, Carrot Cake and Red Velvet Cake. All the three desserts were rich, creamy and delicious. Their desserts are heavenly and worth the calories. Beware- the portion size is humongous.
Serendipity 3 are known for their desserts. This is one place where I don’t mind having desserts for appetizers and mains.
We thought we were already done with lunch. Then Dubai’s Treasure Chest makes a grand entrance. It is the ultimate dessert you would ever want. The Dubai’s treasure chest is priced at AED 350(USD 95) consists of a chocolate chest, filled with ice creams, cakes, cookies, berries and chocolate. It can easily be shared by six people. A must-try for all the dessert lovers.
It is one of the sweetest afternoons I ever had. The ambience, the food and the service is great. It is a good place to visit with family or friends. Can’t wait for their terrace to open. I am sure it will be as gorgeous as their indoors. They will be opening another outlet in City Walk soon. Definitely recommend Serendipity 3.
P.S. When you visit Serendipity 3 forget about calories. You can always work out next day.
