I received an interesting mail last week from an Asian restaurant asking me whether I was ready to iwok with them? I wrote to them saying ‘let’s (I)wok together. That’s how my affair with Iwok started.
Iwok sent me a complimentary dinner and asked me to give a honest feedback.
Iwok is an Asian fast food concept that serves healthy food cooked with less oil. Their food is free of Monosodium Glutamate. This tiny restaurant is located in Dubai Marina. Iwok is very popular for takeaway and home delivery.
One thing I really appreciate is their menu. It is simple and does not have too many options. So you will not waste your time choosing what to order.
Iwok promises to deliver healthy food that tastes good too. At Iwok we can customize our own Asian meal with three simple steps. Cool isn’t it? I had fun creating my own menu and it was delivered to my doorstep.
Here’s how the Iwok theory works:
Step 1- choosing the base: There are variety of bases like udon noodles, egg noodles, rice noodles, buck wheat noodles, jasmine rice, brown rice, quinoa and vegetable mix.
Step 2- choosing the ingredients and toppings like tofu, shitake mushroom, calamari, chicken, shrimps, beef, broccoli, bean sprouts, pak choi etc with toppings like peanuts, fried onion, fried garlic and sesame seeds.
Step 3- choosing the sauce- Korean Chilli, Teriyaki, Black Bean sauce, oyster sauce, garlic and black pepper, peanut sauce and green Thai curry are the sauces to choose and make your own dish.
Here’s what I had- udon noodles with tofu, broccoli, capsicum mix with Korean Chilli sauce. The thick chewy udon noodles with vegetables and sweet and spicy Korean Chilli made a perfect combination. I liked it.
Iwok also offers salad and sides like edamame with sauce of our choice. I was recommended to try their signature salad that is the Asian Quinoa salad.
Asian Quinoa salad had many vegetables like carrot, cucumber, red onion, spring onion, tomato, edamame, broccoli, capsicum, coriander, mint and basil with Iwok house dressing. Oh boy, it was one amazing salad. I could have had it as a full meal. It was fresh, crunchy and tasty. I would definitely recommend this salad for all quinoa lovers.
I loved the edamame which came with the teriyaki sauce.
I liked their food. It is tasty, non-greasy and fresh. The noodles and the edamame came in takeaway boxes with wooden chopsticks. They also gave a small complimentary wok. The pricing is reasonable.
I will definitely Iwok with them again. Loved the concept and would definitely recommend it.
