Après : Journey to the Alpine Ski Lodge in Dubai

I rarely revisit a restaurant. If I do revisit a restaurant, then the restaurant or bar has to be really good. This is the third time that I visited Après, the European cuisine restaurant and bar in Mall of the Emirates.

The first time I went to Après with my friends for drinks. The second time with my family for dinner and the third time again for dinner with family. We had received a MMI voucher to be used in Après  and we were extremely happy to visit Après again, as all of us had loved the ambience, food and service at Après.

The location is amazing, as it is at the foot of  Ski Dubai’s indoor slopes . It is inspired by the Alpine Ski lodges in Europe. Believe me, you will be transported to Switzerland, right here in Dubai.

The view of the Ski Dubai is beautiful. My kids refuse to budge from there. They want to sit there all day. They love the view. I would recommend to book a table in the weekends and do ask for a table next to the window. The place is cozy with dim lighting and alpine lodge atmosphere.

Après has a nice and well stocked bar. As soon as you enter there is a bar and then the restaurant. They play awesome music. The service is good. The prices are on the higher side, but the portion size is good.

Apres is renowned for it’s cocktails. They have a wide array of amazing cocktails. You name a cocktail and they will make it. Their signature cocktails are a must try. I have had their cocktails couple of times and I kind of got addicted to it. I couldn’t stop for one. Thinking about the cocktails at  Apres  is making me thirsty.

Apart from the cocktails Apres also serves contemporary European Cuisine. It doesn’t offer a huge variety. The menu is limited. But the food is good.

We had the Swiss Cheese Fondue on our last visit and we totally loved it. Definitely recommend the Cheese Fondue.

This time when we went for dinner, the kids had juice and hubby and me shared a bottle of red wine.

We started off with the Fig and cheese salad. It has oven baked goat  cheese crostini and honey roasted figs tossed with a green salad and balsamic dressing. It was awesome, we loved it.

After that we had French Fries and Doughballs. The fries were the regular fries that we get everywhere. The Doughballs are the homemade pizza dough, baked and served with garlic butter. My kids love the Doughballs in Apres and we always order them when we go there with the kids.

We had vegetarian pizza and pasta for our main course. Their pizza dough is made in-house and baked in their authentic woodstone pizza oven. The pizza was delicious, crisp and fresh.

We had butternut squash tagliatelle, it has ribbons of pasta with roasted butternut squash, blue cheese, sage with walnut dressing. It was okay.

Though we were stuffed, we still went ahead and ordered a dessert, a meal cannot be complete without a dessert. I don’t remember the name , the dessert we had contained Vanilla ice cream, chocolate popcorn, strawberries, banana and chocolate sauce. It was absolutely delicious.

Apres is a great location and the view is very impressive. The interiors are tastefully done and takes you to Swiss Alps, right here in Dubai. The cocktail menu is creative and the cocktails are irresistible. The food and the service is good. No wonder, I keep going back to Apres again and again.

  1. Great share. For me it was a flashback of my visit to Dubai few years back. Dubai is one of the few places in the globe where expatriates are more than the residents. Most of the structures and infrastructures are made by Indian companies like Galfar construction. It is also owned by Indians like P Mohamed Ali http://www.slideshare.net/pmohamedali
