Las Vegas, I first heard about this place from Hollywood movies. Ever since then I had dreams of visiting Vegas. Now I can happily say that I have lived my Vegas Dream…yay!
Las Vegas is situated in Mojave desert in Nevada state in United States of America. It is the largest city in Nevada and it is surrounded by barren hills.
Las Vegas is a resort town. It is famous for twenty four hours Casinos, endless entertainment options. The focal point for all the tourist attractions and activities is ‘The Strip’ or Las Vegas Boulevard.
All the action and activities happen in the Strip. My suggestion is to stay in one of the hotels on the Strip. The strip is filled with top notch resort hotels. Each and every hotel is different and awesome in it’s own way.
All the hotels in the Strip have a different theme and they all have performance venues. They also have endless entertainment options like Casinos, restaurants, theaters etc.
The Strip runs from Mandalay Bay Hotel to the Treasure Island Hotel. The best way to go around the strip is walking, taking a taxi or Monorail.
The strip is very impressive and one of a kind place in the world. At night it looks magnificent. You will be dazzled by the lights.
Make most of your time in Vegas by walking along the strip and taking in the wonderful sights. There is street side entertainment everywhere.
Mirage Hotel has erupting Volcanoes and secret garden. Bellagio Resort has fountain show. The Venetian Hotel is themed to resemble Venice city and it offers Gondola rides. The New York New York Hotel is designed to look like New York skyline. Luxor Hotel has an Egyptian theme. The hotel is shaped like a pyramid. I can go on and on about the different hotels. I would recommend you to walk the whole stretch of the strip and check out each and every place.
Las Vegas is a place to visit all year-round. But summers are very hot and humid. Apart from the famous Strip, Las Vegas has other attractions too. We took day trips to places near Las Vegas. I would like to recommend day trips from Las Vegas to:
1 Grand Canyon
2 Bryce Canyon
3 Red Rock Canyon
4 Death Valley National Park
5 Hoover Dam
6 Lake Mead
7 Zion National Park
There are many must-see places close to Las Vegas. It will be a good idea to make Las Vegas as a base and explore these amazing places.
Las Vegas has world class shopping malls. Las Vegas is a place for luxury shopping. All the top designers have their stores here. If you are looking for affordable shopping then there are outlet malls.
It is a joy to eat out in Vegas. You are spoilt for choice. They have great variety of restaurants and cuisine. Las Vegas trip cannot be complete without having all-you-can-eat buffet. We went for the Buffet at Wynn. It was one of the best buffets I have been to.
Some of the places I would like to recommend in Las Vegas are:
1 Stratosphere Tower
2 Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay Resort
3 High Roller Ferris Wheel at The Linq
4 Monorail
5 Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Las Vegas
6 CSI : The Experience-MGM Grand
7 Madam Tussaud’s
8 Las Vegas Motor Speedway
9 Bellagio
10 The Mirage
11 Paris Las Vegas
12 The Adventuredome
There are many more attractions. I just mentioned some of my favorites.
Las Vegas is an unique place. Soak in the buzzing energy of the place. Try your luck at one of the best casinos in the world. Enjoy the spectacular shows and entertainment. Sip on the best margaritas and enjoy the culinary fare. Shop till you drop. Party hard. It’s Vegas. I had a dream holiday indeed.
Good one Meghna. I will surely review your blog before selecting a vacation destination. Please keep on adding more cities.
Hey my personal fav Vegas buffet is at the planet Hollywood spice buffet for the only reason that they have more of Mediterranean cuisine dishes on the menu to tingle your Asian taste buds.
