Planning to visit Bur Dubai? Are you living in the vicinity?…then there is a sports bar and grill that serves up creative drinks and delicious food. Located in the heart of old Dubai on the Lobby Level of Royal Ascot Hotel is the small Mumbai-themed sports bar Bandstand Sports Bar & Grill.
We visited Bandstand on Sunday early evening for a quick bite and couple of drinks. The venue is small and cosy with a snooker table in the centre and well stocked bar in the side.
The venue is adorned with picture frames of Mumbai city and the peppy Bollywood music makes it lively. Their drinks menu features a variety of cocktails, mocktails, beer and other spirits. And the food menu consists of Mumbai-style comfort food and Desi Chinese cuisine.
There are good options for vegetarians and non vegetarians. We started off with few cocktails and a mocktail- Spice Cucumber Margarita, Aam Panna, Cucumber Basil Coling and Watermelon Mojito. All the drinks were creatively handcrafted and tasted great.
To eat we ordered Cocktail Samosa, Ragda Pattice and Karjat Vada Pav as our starter. The cocktail samosa and ragda pattice were awesome, but the vada pav was a letdown. For our mains we had Chili Paneer and Vegetable Fried Rice. Both were delicious and flavorful. We ditched having any dessert as we were too full.
Overall we enjoyed our experience at Bandstand. The food, the drinks and the service was good. The prices are pocket-friendly and the portion size is sufficient.
