I was supposed to visit the newest restaurant in town Masala Village located in the lush green Century Village in Garhoud. But couldn’t make it as all the UAE restaurants, cafes and bars are shut down for an indefinite period due to the pandemic.
The next best thing to do was to call for home delivery. So I called the restaurant directly and ordered lunch. Though you can’t dine-in currently, you can order or do a take away from the restaurant. They are offering 40% off on takeaway.
Masala Village is a Bollywood-inspired Indian restaurant specializing in North Indian cuisine. Their menu features a wide range of dishes. It is vegetarian friendly.
Being a vegetarian I am happy with their veggie selection. My family and I enjoyed the starters, mains and dessert from Masala Village.
As our starter we had Hara Bhara Kebab and Dahi Kebab. We loved the fact that Hara Bhara Kebab was not fried and oily yet it tasted great. Also liked the creative twist to the classic Dahi Kebab. They also sent us Salad, Poppadum and Pickle which went perfectly with our meal.
For main course we had Dal Tadka, Aloo Sabji, Mushroom Curry, Jeera Rice and Roti. The Dal Tadka had a homemade flavor, the Aloo Sabji was tasty but was too spicy and the Mushroom Curry was utterly delicious, a must-try for all mushroom lovers. Jeera Rice was amazing too. Freshly baked whole-wheat Rotis went well with all the dishes.
Ended our lunch with their scrumptious Gulab Jamun for dessert.
My family and I enjoyed the lunch delivery from Masala Village. We can’t wait to visit the restaurant once it opens.
