Back in the day when I arrived in Dubai as an expat, Malecon used to be a venue where my friends and I would hangout especially for their ladies night. Those days it was a Cuban restaurant and now it has been revamped and relaunched as a Latin American restaurant.
Located inside the lovely Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa, Malecon offers Latin American cuisine from countries like Mexico, Peru and Argentina. They are also known for their signature cocktails.
The venue is spacious with rustic and Latin-inspired decor. They’ve a separate bar area, dining area and a stage for live entertainment. The live band adds to the energetic vibe of the place.
We tried some of their signature cocktails like Señorita, Ojo Verde and Aguaje. All the cocktails were handcrafted to perfection and tasted amazing. If you’re a non-drinker they also make some really good mocktails.
While we were sipping on our cocktails we were served complimentary plates of Nachos and Dips. Their menu doesn’t offer much for vegetarians and I would like to see a bit more variety of dishes.
We tried dishes like Ceviche, Guacamole and Quinoa Para Ella and they were mediocre and didn’t really standout in terms of taste and flavor. The guacamole was made table side.
Thankfully the desserts didn’t disappoint. Both the desserts that we ordered- Trés Lèches Cake and the Créma Latina Con Café were rich, creamy and delicious.
The venue looks amazing, the cocktails and desserts were fantastic. The food requires a bit of an improvement and variety.
