The tradition of afternoon tea was introduced in Britain around 1840’s. It started as a mini meal to curb the hunger pangs before dinner time. Afternoon tea consisted of mini sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, cakes and tea. The art of afternoon tea is embraced wholeheartedly by many countries in the world including UAE.

Every outlet of Shakespeare and Co offers afternoon tea daily from 3pm-6pm. It is reasonably priced at AED 69 and it includes the following:
1. Choice of 1 tea or 1 coffee
2. Bread, butter and jams
3. Mini sandwich trio- Club sandwich, salmon toast and slider (choice of beef or chicken)
4. Choice of 1 individual cake (from their cake display/cake menu)
5. 4 pieces chocolate box
6. 2 pieces macaron (any flavor of our choice)
For just AED 69, the afternoon tea at Shakespeare and Co is good value for money and worth every penny that we spent. Their afternoon tea can be shared between two people. It was like a mini meal.
I had a pot of blueberry tea which was amazing. The sandwiches, cake, macaron and the chocolates were great. Loved the fact that I could choose whatever cake I wanted as well as of the macarons of my choice. The Afternoon Tea at Shakespeare and Co comes totally recommended.
