Are you a coffee or tea person? Without a doubt, I’m a coffee person, but I do like a good cup of tea every now and then. Yesterday while I was shopping with my family at Mall of the Emirates, I was craving for a cup of ginger tea and comfort food. I didn’t want to eat in the mall and decided to visit a cafe close to the mall.
Discovered Uncle Tea, a tea lounge near MOE, behind Citymax Hotel. Opened in 2018, Uncle Tea is a homegrown concept that offers a variety of tea and other beverages, all-day-breakfast and comfort food.
The venue is small and cosy with an indoor and outdoor seating area. The interiors of Uncle Tea is basic and minimalistic. We sat indoors as the weather was too hot.
The concept of Uncle Tea according to the team behind the brand:
Uncle Tea is a young and fun tea lounge that aims to give everyone a pleasurable tea experience. We strive to create an atmosphere of warmth and comfort where people can come to hang out, chat, have small meetings and build community…a communi-tea that fosters relationship, energy and fun…all while enjoying a fantastically tasty cup of tea.

We started off with their cool and refreshing Rose Milk and Oreo Rocks to drink. From their all-day-breakfast menu, we ordered the Breakfast Twist and it consisted of an Indian-style French toast, a small piece of cake and their signature Uncle Tea. It was satisfying and the quantity was perfect for one person. The price was right too.

Next we had Fun-Tastic Veg Toastie, Chili Cheese Corn Packed Paratha, The Dashing Veggie Burger and Bombay Special Vada Pav. Everything was freshly made and tasted amazing, we especially loved the burger and vada pav.

As our dessert we ordered Lotus Pancake with mango pieces. Compared to all the other dishes that we ate, this was not that good as it lacked in flavor and I also felt that the combination of lotus and mango didn’t work well. Even the quality of the mango was not up to to mark.
Ended our afternoon with a tasty and flavor-rich cup of Ginger Tea.
Overall our experience at Uncle Tea was great. The food, the drinks and the service was on point. The pricing is reasonable and affordable. If you’re in and around Barsha, Uncle Tea is a place to visit.
