My family and I had the pleasure of attending the pre-opening tasting event of Camel Station (CML) last week. After Camel Station’s tremendous success in Abu Dhabi, they have opened their new branch in Dubai.
Located in the Ground Level of The Dubai Mall facing the waterfall, Camel Station was created by young Emirati foodies who have the love and passion for food. It is a result of experimenting different cuisines from all over the world, ranging from street food to fine dining restaurants.
The interiors and artworks is designed to bring the Emirati take on surrealism, bringing the culture together to provoke and reimagine the Emirati identity. It is a gorgeous space, tastefully done.
Their menu features salads, starters, fries, burgers, wood oven pizzas, pastas, mains, desserts and drinks. You can expect a subtle traditional touch to everything. There is something for everyone. The meat eaters have many options compared to vegetarians. Being vegetarians, we only tried the veg dishes.

We started off with their mocktails- Camel Volcano, Watermelon Rose, Lemongrass Lychee and Coco Passion. The presentation and the flavors were fabulous. The Lemongrass Lychee was our favorite among the four drinks.

The Dates & Ricotta Salad was light and refreshing. It had mixed leaves with crispy beetroot, sweet potato chips, Dates and Ricotta cheese.
Charred Sweetcorn was simple yet utterly delicious. Slowly charred corn seasoned with Black sea salt flakes topped with their homemade tangy sauce was a big hit with my kids.

Patatas Bravas was given a creative twist with baby potatoes seasoned with Cajun spices and served in a paper pouch alongside aioli sauce. It was oily but tasty.
Burrata Pizza was baked to crispy perfection in their wood-fired pizza oven and topped with Stracciatella cheese, Sicilian oregano, micro greens, extra virgin olive oil and pesto sauce. We loved the authentic taste, flavor and texture.

Truffle & Mushroom Pasta came in a rich and creamy white sauce with mushrooms, fresh garlic, white onions, chives, Parmesan cheese and truffle shavings. It was deliciousness in a plate.
Penne Pink Pasta contained shrimp but on our request they prepared it without shrimp and added mushrooms instead. The penne pasta was tasty.

For dessert, we had their bread, pistachio and cotton candy based oh-so-amazing Pistachio Shibuya. It is a generous-sized dessert and can be easily shared between 2-3 people.
The Camel Station is a fantastic new addition to the dining scene in the Dubai Mall. Great food and drinks, but the service was slow.
