Comfort food that makes you nostalgic is the most satisfying kind of food. Last week I discovered a restaurant in one of the bylanes of the foodie district of Karama in Dubai that serves up the best kind of comfort food.
Once Upon A Bite, an Indian and multi-cuisine restaurant in Karama has a menu that will make you go down the memory lane. They have a small and simple menu featuring quick bites.
The restaurant is small, cosy and colorful with comfortable seating area. It has a friendly and cheerful atmosphere. The dim lighting in the evening with peppy music in the background made it a perfect venue for a catch-up with an old friend.
We started our dinner with 2 of their refreshing drinks- Mint Lemonade and Masala Cola. The crispy and tasty Chinese Bhel was the first dish to arrive on our table.
Next we ordered Masala French Toast, Hakka Noodles and Gobi Manchurian. The Masala Toast could have been a bit more flavorful but both the Hakka Noodles and Gobi Manchurian tasted incredibly delicious.
The Egg Masala Roll was packed with amazing flavor. A must-try at the restaurant. We also liked their Dhabewala Paneer from the Special Indian Combos. It came along with a freshly made whole wheat roti.
For dessert, we ordered the Brownie Choco Bliss. It was brownie with a scoop of chocolate ice cream topped with nuts.
Our dining experience at Once Upon A Bite was wonderful. The taste, flavor and presentation of the food was great. The affordable pricing will not make a dent in your wallet. Its a venue that I would like to come back again.
