One of the most-anticipated restaurants- Indya by Vineet opened in Le Royal Meridien Resort & Spa few days ago. We visited the restaurant for dinner and also got to meet the chef. Indya by Vineet is the second restaurant of Michelin starred chef Vineet Bhatia in Dubai. At Indya by Vineet, you can expect regional delicacies of India and the menu is comprised of tapas-style sharing plates where traditions embrace the contemporary.
The concept of the restaurant in Chef Vineet Bhatia’s words:
It is an opportunity to have fun with Indian food, to challenge perceptions and introduce new ingredients to age-old dishes. I guess you could liken it to an expression of my roots and respectfully breathing new life into the food I grew up with.

The interiors of the restaurant is vibrant, chic and oh-so-cool. It has a casual and friendly vibe. We loved the fact that the restaurant was not stuffy like other restaurants in 5 star hotels. They’ve various kinds of seating arrangements and a great bar.

All you gin lovers rejoice they’ve a coolest gin room in their venue. The beverage menu at Indya by Vineet had us asking for more. Their signature cocktails and mocktails were fabulous.
The food menu is small and easy-to-order with good options for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Being vegetarians, we ordered only the veg food.

Our gastronomic journey began with their Chaat Trolley and we tried Raj Puri Chaat, Bombay Bhel, Khasta Kachoris and Charcoal Sev Papdi Dahi Chaat. Chaat: various kinds of savory snacks is the most famous street food in India. And with the exception of Bombay Bhel which was a bit sweet, everything else was good. The texture, flavor and taste was on point.

Next we ordered starters like Samosa Pinwheels, Onion-beetroot Bhajias, Chowpatty Bhaji-pea Paniyaram and Sabudana Kebab. We absolutely loved everything as they were perfectly cooked and tasted incredibly delicious. But our favorites were the creative Samosa Pinwheels and moreish Sabudana Kebab. Even the different kinds of chutneys that were served with the starters were refreshing.

The main course was simple yet scrumptious affair. We had Corn Kofta-Spinach Saag, Burnt Aubergine Spinach, Saatvik Aloo Masala, Methi Pooris, Berry Pulao, Cucumber Mint Raita and Naan. Each and every dish was well cooked and oozing with homemade flavor. It reminded me of a home-cooked meal that my mother would make.

The desserts had a bold and creative twist. Awesomosas that were stuffed with halwa and Puchka Bevda, Indya by Vineet’s version of chocolate golgappas with rum rabdi were outstanding.
Our dinner experience at Indya by Vineet was amazing. No theatrics, but excellent home-styled regional Indian food with chef Vineet’s contemporary touch. The good food and drinks was complemented by the beautiful atmosphere, cool music and impeccable service.
