New year greetings everyone! Just couple of days before Christmas, we were invited to a launch and dinner party of a brand new Italian restaurant in town. Being a huge Italian food lover, I was super excited and this restaurant completely won me over with delicious food and bellissimo surroundings.
La Strega is now open at Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa. The moment we stepped into the restaurant, we immediately fell in love with the warm trattoria-style atmosphere. La Strega has a perfect blend of rustic and contemporary decor.
The outdoor terrace overlooking the Arabian sea looks inviting. Whether it is a romantic dinner or a family/friends get-together, La Strega is the best venue.
Headed by Italian chef Christian Carrieri, you can expect authentic Italian food. Their menu features most of the classic Italian dishes. Being vegetarians, we were happy to note that they offer a good variety for vegetarians too.
Our dining experience started with a glass of Italian Wine and a Bread Basket with Olive Tapenade. As our appetizer, we had a basic and simple Italian Salad, extremely addictive Fried Zucchini and fresh Burrata.
For our main course, we tried Ravioli Di Burrata, Tagliatelle Alla Norma and Risotto Asparagi & Tartufo. All the three dishes were distinctly different and utterly delicious. The richly flavored ravioli burrata with cherry tomato sauce was the main highlight of our dinner. A must-try dish.
All their pizzas are made in the wood-fired oven. It was a delight to eat their soft, supple and fresh pizza. We liked both the Burrata Pizza and Margarita Pizza.
Dessert was an indulgent affair as we tried not one but three classic Italian sweet treats like Tiramisu, Cannoli and Sbriciolata.
We loved our dining experience at La Strega. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere and the service was excellent. La Strega comes totally recommended, I cannot wait to take my family for a delicious dinner in their cosy and welcoming setting.
