Carter’s is a gastropub and sports bar that boasts of a charming colonial vibe. Apart from the usual pub grub, Carter’s also features some English favorites and gourmet dishes. Carter’s is a great place to chill out with friends over a drink or two, catch up on a match on the big Telly or enjoy the music in a friendly atmosphere.
Located in the Pyramids Wafi, Carter’s is a lively and energetic place that offers indoor and outdoor dining area. The outside seating area in the terrace is gorgeous, a great option for al fresco dining during winter. The colonial style decor adds charm to the place.
The seating area is comfortable. Carter’s also has a small stage for live performances. They have a well stocked bar and two different seating area- close to the bar and the stage and an elevated dining area from where you can get a good view of the whole place and the stage.
As my husband and I visited Carter’s on a Saturday night, the place was buzzing. After being seated, we were served by the friendly and helpful Gunther. We were impressed with his knowledge of food and drinks. We ordered some of the food and drinks as per his recommendation and it was perfect.
While we were going through the menu, we were served freshly baked bread with butter.
Their drinks menu is extensive with a good selection of cocktails, mocktails, fresh juices, beer, wine and other spirits.
We ordered a Bull Frog and Mai Tai for our drinks. Both our drinks were refreshing and tasted fantastic.
Starters
Hand-cut fries is one of our favorite pub grub, at Carter’s it was perfectly done and well seasoned.
Next we had the Stilton Blue Cheese and Oven Roasted Beetroot Salad served with baby gem lettuce and macadamia nuts. We ordered this dish as per the recommendation of our server Gunther. The salad was crunchy and utterly delicious.
Mains
Goat Cheese And Butternut Squash Tart was accompanied by green asparagus. This savory short crust tartlet was tasty and filling.
Beetroot & Parmesan Risotto had an amazing deep pink color and tasted absolutely delicious. It was very refreshing and different from the regular risotto. We loved it.
Dessert
Eton Mess, the classic English dessert came in a tall glass. It had a mixture of strawberries, cream and pieces of meringue. It was sweet and scrumptious.
We ended our night with a glass of Irish Coffee. Instead of having the classic combo of Irish whiskey, coffee and cream. It had vodka, coffee and cream. It was not bad, but definitely I prefer my Irish coffee with whiskey.
Carter’s has a happy hour, quiz night, ladies night and Friday brunch every week. I would like to recommend their summer sale where you get pints, selected wines and spirits at a discounted price.
Overall, we had an amazing time. The food, the drinks, the service and the ambience was great. We can’t wait to come back again.
