Recently Dean & Deluca, branch of New York’s gourmet Cafe opened at the Mall Of The Emirates, Expansion Level 2, next to Vox Cinemas. On 18th of January, I was invited to an exclusive breakfast tasting event for bloggers. It was a well organized event. I liked the way the invitation was sent; the invite came along with a cookbook. How cool is that!
Dean & Deluca has an upmarket New York cafe vibe. The decor is elegant and minimalistic. The all-white interiors adds a sophisticated touch to the cafe. The cafe is spacious with ample seating. There is outdoor seating as well. Not for a single moment, I felt that I was in a cafe inside a mall. From the decor to the menu- everything has been done up aesthetically.
Dean & Deluca has an open kitchen concept. There are different sections of open kitchen like Espresso Bar, Salad Bar, Wood Fire Grill and so on. Each kitchen has it’s own specialty chef in charge.
Though Dean & Deluca’s menu is of Italian-American origin, but here in Dubai, they have incorporated Middle Eastern flavor in some of the dishes. So you can expect interesting combination like Doner Kebab Taco, Fatayer pizza, Shawarma Sliders and so on. They have Classic dishes, Local and Middle Eastern dishes and interesting combination.
They use the freshest of ingredients in all their dishes. You can expect high quality and fresh gourmet food from Dean & Deluca. Whether you are a non vegetarian or a vegetarian, you will have plenty of options.
Dean & Deluca has a separate Breakfast menu. Both the breakfast and lunch/dinner is elaborate. We started off our morning with cocktails. My friend had a drink named Obsession and I had a drink named Bora Bora.
Obsession- It was a blend of freshly squeezed Orange and lemon juice with Apple, Strawberries and Passion fruit juice.
Bora Bora- It had a mix of tropical fruits like Pineapple,Passion fruit and Lemon with Grenadine syrup and Soda water.
Both the drinks were delicious and refreshing. Their beverage menu offers fresh fruit juices,fruit based cocktails,Iced coffee, Frappes and hot beverages like coffee and tea.
We ordered Triple Fatayer, Healthy Omelette with Roasted Potatoes,Bread and Salad and their signature Pancake. My friend and I shared it between us.
Triple Fatayer- The Fatayer is freshly baked in the open kitchen and you can choose the toppings of your choice. Triple Fatayer came in three columns. The first column was Spinach, the second column was cheese and the third column was Zaatar. Each column was amazing and flavourful. A definite must-try, one of the best Fatayer I have had in a long time. Just writing about it, makes me hungry.
Healthy Omelette- The omelette was well done and a perfect way to start off our morning. We had it along with freshly baked bread, salad and roasted potatoes.
Signature Pancake- The Signature Pancake had red berry purée, mascarpone cream, maple syrup and fresh berries. It was delicious, but a tad dry.
We also had a Cappuccino in the end. It was strong, frothy and delicious. Perked us up instantly.
Overall, we had a great experience. The food, the ambience, the service and the music was top notch. The dessert counter looked very tempting, definitely I will be trying it next time. Maybe one of these days I will go over to Dean & Deluca for lunch.
Dean & Deluca are purveyors of fine food and they retail food products in their cafe. They offer everything you need for an unforgettable meal. Their delicious gift basket is very popular. It is one of the best gifts to give to family and friends on special occasions. I was lucky enough to be gifted one.
