I knew that The Observatory had an amazing view. But when I went there and saw it myself, I was totally stunned. The view is stunning, fantabulous, magnificent and I can go on and use all the adjectives. It has a great panoramic view of the Palm and Marina.
I can say without hesitating that The Observatory has the best aerial view of Palm Jumeriah and Dubai Marina. The view is so impressive that I have decided to get my guests from overseas to The Observatory for a drink or a meal.
As I was out of Dubai for 2 months for my summer vacation, I have a long list of restaurants to visit on my list and The Observatory is one among that list. I and my friends decided to go there for lunch on a Sunday afternoon.
It was easy to get there. The Observatory is located on the 52nd floor of Dubai Marriot Harbour Hotel in Dubai Marina.
The ambience is lovely and bright, the decor is modern, the seating is comfortable. They have a nice and well stocked bar. It is a kind of place which is great for a couple as well as a huge group. It is a great place to meet up for business or pleasure.
When we reached there in the afternoon for lunch, we were told that they have a 2 course and 3 course business set lunch menu on weekdays as well as A la Carte menu. The 2 course set menu was priced at 99 dhs per person and the 3 course set menu was priced at 129 dhs per person. This was inclusive of a drink. We found it very reasonable and opted for the 3 course business set menu.
We had mixed fruit fizz and orange juice as our drinks. It was okay.
We served complimentary bread with butter and olive tapenade. We liked the olive tapenade.
Our 3 course set menu consisted of a salad, main course and dessert. All the 4 of us took different dishes as we could try everything. The portion size is good.
We had classic Greek salad, grilled Halloumi and eggplant salad, heirloom Tomato Salad and Avocado salad. All the 4 salads were excellent. It was freshly made and delicious.
We ordered Buttered beets Gnocchi, grilled vegetable Panini with pesto bread, pasta with pink sauce with veggies and pasta with white sauce and veggies. We really enjoyed all the dishes. Everything was well cooked. Again, we noticed that the portion size of our main course dishes were very good.
Last but no way least was the dessert. We ordered Blueberry Cheesecake, Bitter Chocolate Crunch, Chocolate Mousse and Trio of Ice cream. It was excellent and the perfect way to end our lunch.
The service was top notch, the staff were very polite,friendly and helpful. They literally pampered us.
I want to make a confession, my first impression when I entered the place was that it was popular for it’s magnificent view and the food will be nothing great. But I was definitely wrong. The food is good.
I would love to come again in the evening and try their cocktails. My friends and me had an amazing dining experience. I certainly recommend The Observatory.
