Shawermania

This time my gastronomic journey took me to Shawermania. Well, no I haven’t turned non vegetarian. My hubby had the same doubts, when I told him that we are going to Shawermania.

I was invited to this place for food tasting and got to know that they also serve some vegetarian food apart from the salads. So off we went in search of our new dining destination on a Saturday early evening.

Shawermania is located at Cluster Q ,Jumeirah Lake Towers. This restaurant has been taken over by a new management one month ago.

The new management is putting in lot of effort and hard work to give their best. In fact, after my meal they asked me to give a honest feedback, good or bad. So that they will see what needs to be improved and they can work on it. I appreciate their sincerity and hard work and wish them all the best.

Shawermania is a small restaurant. It has indoor and outdoor seating area. The atmosphere is welcoming, cosy, clean and cheerful.

We started off with our drinks. Hubby had Fresh Orange juice and I had Virgin Mojito. It was good. Apart from water, they also serve soft drinks, fresh juices, shakes and coffee/tea.

The management explained to us that they were not the usual Shawerma restaurant but they specialize in Azerbaijan way of doing it. They use all high quality ingredients and everything is made from scratch. Except for bread, everything is made in the restaurant.

Shawermania offers salads, appetizers, Shawerma platters, Shawerma Sandwiches, Falafel platter, falafel wrap and sandwiches. They also serve Keshkawan cheese sandwich and few other varieties of sandwich. They also have combo meals and kids meals. Their desserts consists of brownies and ice creams.

We  had French fries and grilled Halloumi cheese as our appetizers. It was good, freshly made and hot.

As our main course we had Kashkawan cheese sandwich, falafel sandwich and hummus with pita bread. We were also served condiments like pickled vegetables, garlic cream and ketchup. They also served their special spicy dip to go with our food.

The star of our meal was Kashkawan cheese sandwich. It was awesome and a definite must try.

The hummus and bread was ok. The regular standard stuff which we get in most of the Arabic restaurants. I was disappointed  with the falafel sandwich. We found it a bit bland for our taste. The spicy dip was a perfect and hit the right spot with us.

The service was good. The staff are knowledgeable and good with recommendations. The pricing is very reasonable. They also do home delivery in JLT, Barsha and other localities. They are shortly introducing their breakfast menu. Shawermania is a good option to visit, especially for the people staying in JLT and surrounding area.
