3 Nights and 4 Days Getaway to AlUla in Saudi Arabia

My first travel destination of 2025 is AlUla in Saudi Arabia. AlUla has been on my must-visit travel list since 3 years and I’m glad that I was finally able to visit and experience this spectacular place.

I traveled by direct Fly Dubai flight from Dubai to AlUla. It took approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes. There are weekly direct flights as well as flights via other GCC countries.

UAE residents can apply online for Saudi Arabia visa. The process is quick and easy, the eVisa is a one-year multi entry visa, allowing tourists to spend up to 90 days in the country.

About AlUla

AlUla is an ancient Arabian oasis city located in the Medina province. Situated in the Hejaz, a region that features prominently in the history of Islam as well as several pre-Islamic Semitic civilizations, AlUla was a market city on the historic incense route that linked India and the Persian Gulf to the Levant and Europe.

Nestled in the Northwest desert, it is Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can marvel at ancient tombs from 7,000 years of civilization, stunning rock formations and lush oasis.

On my 3 nights and 4 days visit, I stayed at the luxurious and sustainable Our Habitas resort in AlUla’s Ashar Valley.

What is the best time to visit AlUla?

The best time to visit is from October-March to experience the mornings without feeling the harsh sun.

Where to stay?

Whether it is luxury, mid-range or budget hotels, AlUla offers great options. We stayed at one of the best resorts- Our Habitas.

Getting Around

Car rental are the most flexible option, allowing you to explore at your own pace. Taxis and ride-hailing services like Careem are also available. I took the resort’s taxi service.

Things to do and see in AlUla

I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days and explored AlUla in a leisurely manner as there was so much to do and see in my resort. 2 or 3 days is sufficient to cover AlUla.

Beyond its historical marvels, AlUla is known for its avant-grade art installations, expansive desert panoramas, captivating natural rock formations and colorful canyons.
