2 Nights and 3 Days Getaway to Alila Jabal Akhdar in Oman

The Sultanate of Oman is situated in the Southeastern coast of Arabian peninsula and shares border with UAE. It is my favorite country in the GCC and I’ve visited the capital Muscat, scenic Salalah and Zighy Bay.

I’ve always wanted to visit the ruggedly beautiful Jabal Akhdar and finally visited it during one of the long weekend.

Jabal Akhdar is a 5-6 hour drive from Dubai. We got our visa at the UAE-Oman Border Crossing, and had all the important documents like passport, Emirates id, driving license, insurance and car registration papers ready.

We drove from Dubai and it was a picturesque drive. We had booked our stay in Alila Resort in Jabal Akhdar and it is mandatory to have a 4-wheel-drive to access the property. If you’re not driving a 4-wheel-drive, the resort can arrange transportation for a fee.

When to visit Jabal Akhdar

Best time to visit is from October to May, when the weather is mild and comfortable. During Spring season (March-April) damask roses bloom and fills the air with its sweet fragrance.
