Al Dawaar is Dubai’s first and only revolving restaurant and it recently had a complete makeover and reopened as a new restaurant and lounge. Having visited Al Dawaar couple of years ago, I was very excited to visit the all-new Al Dawaar rooftop revolving restaurant and lounge.
This legendary restaurant is a must-visit destination for both the tourists and the residents. The restaurant and lounge not only offers a stunning view of the city skyline with Burj Khalifa, sea and the creek, it also serves up great food.
Al Dawaar is situated in the 25th Floor of Hyatt Regency in Deira. No matter where you sit, you are guaranteed to get a spectacular view. Al Dawaar takes approximately 90 minutes to rotate on its axis.
Both the times I dined at Al Dawaar during the day time, I am sure the view from there by night will be different and magnificent. The restaurant has a clear and bright atmosphere during the day time.
I loved the fresh new setting inspired by colonial elements. This chic, trendy and stylish venue oozes tropical charm and makes you feel as though you are on a holiday in a tropical island.
If you don’t want to sit in the restaurant area then you have the option of relaxing in their lounge which offers a wide selection of beverages from around the world. They also have two bars- one that revolves and the other that is stationary.
Al Dawaar offers an international buffet featuring dishes from various cuisine. The spread is massive and there is something for everyone.
Before we delved into their sumptuous food selection, we ordered drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. The drinks we ordered were Minty Lime, Melon Martini, Vanilla Hibiscus and Negroni. The drinks were handcrafted to perfection and tasted incredibly good.
Al Dawaar has an open and vibrant live kitchen where their chefs were dishing up amazing delicacies from the Tandoor, wok fry, rotisserie, steam pots and frying pans.
Apart from the live kitchen offerings, we also got to choose from their elaborate spread including an array of salads, sushi and sashimi. The highlight of the sushi and sashimi section was the ‘catch of the day’.
Besides the salads and sushi, there were station for meat lovers, Arabic mezze, smoked fish, cold cuts and islands of cooked and raw seafood items. There was a separate section for international mains as well.
And not to be missed is their dessert selection that featured international favorites as well as local delicacies. If I had my way I would have straightaway had the desserts first. Their dessert selection is fantastic, so keep lots of space for desserts.
Dutch Apple Tart, Chocolate Cake, Crème Brûlée, Panna Cotta, Kunafa and Umm Ali were some of our favorites. If you want to go for something healthy, then you can choose from their selection of seasonal fresh fruits.
By the time we finished our desserts, we were too full and had to refuse the offer of tea or coffee.
Dining at Al Dawaar is nothing less than a celebration. We loved the completely remodelled and revamped Al Dawaar Revolving Restaurant and Lounge. The interiors look breathtakingly beautiful.
The food, the drinks, the atmosphere and the service is great. We had an unforgettable dining experience. Al Dawaar is one place that I don’t mind coming back again and again.
