Benjarong Thai Restaurant at Dusit Thani Hotel in Dubai is one of the longstanding Thai restaurants in Dubai. It has been around for more than 16 years. In the ever changing restaurant scenario in Dubai, few things remain constant- like Dusit Thani’s signature restaurant Benjarong.
I remember visiting Benjarong many years ago on a special occasion and I had a memorable time. This time I visited the restaurant with my hubby to celebrate the upcoming long weekend.
Benjarong is located on the 24th Floor of Dusit Thani Hotel. It boasts of a magnificent view of Dubai’s skyline. The decor of Benjarong will take you to the royal palaces of Thailand. The tastefully done setting of the restaurant looks elegant and classy.
I loved the intricate Thai design on the pillars. The venue looks beautiful in its ornate setting. The restaurant is spacious with ample seating area. It also has a private dining area.
The live performances by classically trained Thai musicians and dancers adds a special touch to the place.
All their staff and chefs are from Thailand, you can expect an authentic Thai experience, flawless service and warm Thai hospitality.
They have an elaborate menu with a wide range of choices for non vegetarians and vegetarians. As I am a vegetarian, you will get a vegetarian perspective of the food in Benjarong. Their beverage list has a good selection of wine, cocktails, mocktails, fresh juices and other spirits.
We ordered their super refreshing and cool Coconut Water. It was a perfect way to start our Thai culinary journey.
The ever popular Som Tam Salad or the green papaya salad was tasty, sharp and spicy. It had a perfect balance of sourness and sweetness with right amount of spice.
Khow Phod Tod or crispy sweet corn was crispy and quite sweet. It was served with sweet chili sauce topped with crushed peanuts.
Gaeng Kiew Wan or green curry was fantastic. It had veggies and tofu in a fragrant and creamy coconut milk based green curry. Their green curry is one of the best in town.
Phad Priew Wan Tao Hu was the other curry that we ordered. It consisted of stir-fried tofu with pineapple, cucumber, tomato and spring onion in a sweet and sour sauce. If you like your curry a bit on the sweeter side then you can order this.
Khao Phad or authentic Thai style fried rice was good. It had a medley of veggies, as we didn’t want egg in our fried rice, they didn’t add eggs.
Steamed Jasmine Rice went well with both the curries.
Their sticky rice with mango is amazing and I have already tried it, so this time I ordered something different. Tab Tim Krob that had ruby colored water chestnuts in iced coconut milk was crunchy, sweet and oh-so-delicious. We also loved their homemade Coconut Ice Cream with roasted peanuts.
We ended our meal with a cup of aromatic and perfectly brewed Jasmine Tea.
We enjoyed our dinner at Benjarong. It is a must-visit place for all Thai food lovers. One of the few good Thai restaurants in Dubai.
