Mahec is a fine dining Indian Restaurant located at the Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre, Meridien Village Terrace on Airport road, Garhoud.
I remember visiting Mahec with friends for business lunch a few months back. I had loved the food. This time I was invited for a Zomato Meet Up to experience the new Lounge at Mahec Indian Fine Dine Restaurant.
It was a fun evening, we got to learn how to make signature drinks whilst enjoying the Cocktails and Canapés.
Mahec has been refurbished and revamped and looks absolutely stunning. The new lounge is a great new addition to the lounge scene in Dubai. The ambience of Mahec is beautiful. Loved the gorgeous crystal chandeliers and modern furniture. They have a nice and well stocked bar. The lounge and bar is at the entrance followed by the restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor dining area.
The full form of Mahec is Modern Authentic Hindustani Evolved Cuisine. They do complete justice to the name. Mahec offers delicious, flavorful and authentic Indian food presented in modern style. They have an amazing menu- Bar menu, Set Menu and A La Carte menu. They offer a wide range of soups, appetizers, main course and desserts. They also have a Friday brunch and Theme nights. Their Valentine’s Day package is worth checking out.
All the drinks were unique and amazing. I especially loved the Masala Gin Jaljeera and Whisky Infusion.
Both the drinks were refreshing. The Masala Gin Jaljeera had gin, Jaljeera mix with a dash of sweet and sour syrup and blended with soda. The Whisky Infusion had an exotic combination of whisky, honey and herbs. I recommend both these amazing drinks.
We learnt to make some of their signature drinks from their friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. Infact, I made the ever popular cocktail ‘Bullfrog’ with their help. They have an elaborate drinks menu. The wine list is impressive. They also offer various cocktails, mocktails, fresh juices, soft drinks and other spirits.
As it was a Cocktails and Canapés night, we didn’t have the main course. We got to sample some of their Kababs and starters. I tried all the vegetarian starters like Paneer Tikka, Malai Broccoli and Dal Tikki.
Paneer Tikka was excellent. It was soft and tender, just melted in my mouth.
Malai Broccoli was perfectly made, it was crispy and crunchy and went went very well with our drinks.
Dal Tikki is a simple and popular Indian patties. It was spicy and delicious.
We were also offered Mahec’s own sweet creation called Bombay Pudding. It is a cardamom flavored milk custard layered with small pieces of walnut brownie and Gulab jamun, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was okay, I found it too sweet.
Mahec Lounge and Restaurant offers good food, great ambience and top notch service. It is one place I won’t mind going back again and again.
