Ocean Blue : Jumeriah Beach Hotel

Azure blue sky, pristine beach, fresh breeze, beautiful and relaxed settings. Away from the hustle bustle of the city is a tropical paradise called Ocean Blue. It is my go-to place for sundowners and more.

Ocean Blue is located at Jumeriah Beach Hotel, Umm Suqeim. It is situated close to the pool,adjacent to the resort’s marina and Burj Al Arab Jumeriah beach. In one word if I have to describe the location, it would be ‘Beautiful.’

The ambience is beautiful, modern and stunning. It has a chilled out and laid back vibe. Ocean Blue is a kind of place where you can just sit and watch the world go by. It takes Al Fresco dining to a new level. 

  
This chic beach lounge has comfortable seating. It has a gorgeous view of Burj Al Arab. Great music, good food and drinks and excellent service.

My husband and I visited Ocean Blue for Halloween dinner. The whole place had Halloween themed decor. Oh yes, we were impressed by the spookily decorated venue. We were welcomed by the staff who were dressed in their Halloween costume and make up. The venue was looking eerily good. We were looking forward to our evening.

  
There was a lot of activities for kids and adults. There was face painting for kids. Magicians, stilt walkers, skeleton crew to keep everyone entertained. There were prizes for best costumes and entertainment for everyone. Even the DJ was in his Halloween best and playing some of the best music. There was not a single dull moment. 

  
As soon as we were seated we were given our Halloween inspired cocktail. It was refreshing, tasty and sweet. 

The Halloween dinner at Ocean Blue was a Halloween inspired BBQ night. 

  
We started off with slow roast pumpkin soup. A definite must have on Halloween is the pumpkin soup. We loved it. They also had a wide variety of breads. 

  
Our next stop was the salad station. They had a good variety of fresh salads. Our favorites were Greek salad, Caesar salad and Mixed green salad. We also tried their Arabic Mezze like Moutabel,Fattoush, Hummus, Falafel and Kibbeh. 

  
We liked the interesting mix of different cuisine for main course. There was Chilli marinated scotties Salmon, Thai spiced tiger prawns, vegetable biryani, butter chicken, Ratatouille, corn on cob, garlic and lemon chicken legs, Turkey Escalope, steaks, baked potatoes with sour cream and condiments and maple syrup glazed pumpkin. The food was well cooked, delicious and tasty. You will certainly feel like going back and forth to try each and everything.

  
It was time to hit the dessert station. Oh my, we  were spoilt for choice. We tried little bit of everything and everything was good. But some of the desserts were outstanding, to name a few- Pistachio Creme Brûlée, Marzipan and apple slice, Gianduja Mousse with crunchy Cocoa Bean in glasses, Passion fruit Tiramisu  and Vanilla, Lime and Blueberry Cheesecake. My sugar cravings were satisfied. 

All the buffet stations had Halloween props and carved pumpkins. The whole place had a Halloween spooky vibe. The festive atmosphere was amazing, certainly one of the best Halloween dinner that we have been to.

Ocean Blue’s beverage menu offers mocktails,cocktails, fresh juices, soft drinks, champagne, wine, beer and other hard drinks. They have Buffet specializing in Arabic cuisine every evening. They also have A La Carte menu. They also serve Shisha. Ocean Blue also has Happy Hour promotion every day between 17:00 and 18:30 in the evening.

Ocean Blue is a perfect place to visit for sundowners or a full fledged dinner. It takes relaxation and lounging to a new level.
